Water Treatment Operator

We are looking for a dedicated Water Treatment Operator to oversee the operation and maintenance of water treatment facilities across the Greater Baltimore Area. This role is hands-on, requiring attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to environmental safety. Position Details

This is a full-time position based in Phoenix, MD, with responsibilities covering multiple counties in the region. Compensation ranges from $27.50–$32.50 per hour, depending on experience. Employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package after 90 days. During the probation period, a gas allowance is provided, and a company vehicle will be issued upon completion.

Responsibilities

As a Water Treatment Operator, you will be responsible for the daily monitoring and maintenance of treatment systems, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. Your work will involve:

  • Conducting chemical dosing, process control, and routine maintenance to maintain water quality.
  • Identifying and troubleshooting system malfunctions to prevent disruptions.
  • Collecting and analyzing water samples to ensure treatment effectiveness.
  • Maintaining proper documentation of system operations and reporting findings to supervisors.
  • Assisting with staffing and operational planning as needed.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes, along with a practical knowledge of chemistry, biology, and environmental science. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.

While Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) certification as a Water Treatment Plant Operator is preferred, we are open to candidates with relevant experience who are willing to pursue certification. A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or Engineering is also a plus but not required.
