We are looking for an experienced excavating plumber with strong mini excavator operating skills to join our team. This role involves trenching, installing underground plumbing systems, and ensuring proper site preparation for water, sewer, and drainage lines. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with excavation equipment, understands underground plumbing systems, and takes pride in working efficiently and safely.

Pay: $32 - $46 per hour (based on experience)

About the Job

As an excavating plumber, you will be responsible for digging and preparing trenches for underground pipe installations using a mini excavator. You will work closely with plumbers to install water mains, sewer lines, and drainage systems, ensuring proper alignment, grading, and backfilling. Precision is key in this role, as you’ll need to follow site plans carefully to avoid damaging existing utilities.

A typical day on the job might include operating a mini excavator to dig a trench for a new water line, carefully positioning pipes for proper drainage, and backfilling the area to restore the ground to its original state. You will also be responsible for keeping the job site clean, maintaining equipment, and ensuring all work is done in compliance with safety regulations.

What We Expect from You

To succeed in this role, you need to be comfortable operating a mini excavator in tight spaces and on uneven terrain. Experience with underground plumbing is essential, including knowledge of how to properly grade trenches and install piping. You should be able to read and interpret blueprints and job site plans, ensuring that excavation work is performed accurately and efficiently.

Safety is a top priority, so you must be familiar with excavation safety practices, trenching requirements, and shoring techniques. You should also be physically capable of performing manual labor, as some tasks may require assisting with pipe installation, lifting materials, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Qualifications and Skills
