Manufacturing Engineer III

Salary: $95,000 - $125,000

Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer III plays a critical role in the product development lifecycle, ensuring products are designed for manufacturability and that production processes are efficient, reliable, and continuously improved. This position is responsible for driving process optimization, implementing best practices, and providing technical leadership to support fabrication and assembly operations, with a strong emphasis on composite materials and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a core member of the product design team with a focus on Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior manufacturing engineers.
  • Develop, implement, and validate production processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Act as a process owner or subject matter expert for critical manufacturing operations, particularly in composites manufacturing.
  • Design and develop complex fixtures, tools, and inspection gauges to support composite fabrication and assembly.
  • Assist in resource planning and coordination to meet production schedules.
  • Lead workflow planning and production line setup to maximize efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex manufacturing challenges using advanced engineering principles and inspection techniques.
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines to integrate manufacturing requirements into product development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Composites manufacturing experience is required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in fabrication and assembly environments.
  • Proficiency in reading and creating blueprints, drawings, and technical diagrams.
  • Solid understanding of material properties, in-process verification, and validation techniques.
  • Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
